The update instructions specifically say for me to delete a specific driver from the program files of the scanner, download their MSI file, and click on it to install. I click on it to run and it comes up Scanner Driver Setup Wizard, but when I click on the 'Next' button to continue, nothing happens. I eventually hit cancel and finish. My scanner doesn't work anymore. The scanner company support said if the 'Next' button doesn't work, then the drivers are already installed. Is that true or is there something else I need to try to get it working? We've been trouble shooting this and I keep wondering about that next button doing nothing and wondering if that has something to do with it. The company thinks it may be a hardware issue, but this worked fine until a month ago and everything works fine until I attempt to scan. A few years back I had the same issue but unfortunately I didn't save those drivers. Restore point is long gone.
