Very very unhappy to use aspire v5-571. 24 hours a day; more than 10 problems and errors a day for ASPIRE V5 too. Oct 31, 2011 If your Acer One touch pad stops functioning try this quick tip before you start downloading drivers or ship your netbook for repair. Acer One Aspire touchpad, not working, quick fix tip. Early morning, i get up and go to my laptop for work emails and facebook, START ERROR. After a shower and breakfast, it starts then TOUCHPAD ERROR. Bring it to office and get there 9:00 a.m, run TOUCHPAD then good but WIRELESS LAN ERROR. Before i manage my office works, run WIRELESS LAN then good but goes to BLACK SCREEN ERROR. After half an hour talks for stuffs, BLACK SCREEN ok then AUTO RESTART ERROR. Half an hour later, it come back to windows very well but FAN is still sleeping. Emails, market data pages are running. So I keep to carry on without FAN working. Some minutes later, SHUT DOWN automatically. Try to restart, cleverly comes to windows back and FAN also works very well but CD comes out without commands. Then to lunch. After lunch, i resume my works. My laptop is also again to above ERRORS. Then go back to my home at 6:00 p.m. This is my work plans for everyday. Very Very Very Unappy with Aspire. I have an Acer Aspire One netbook that I have upgraded to win 10. In Device manager with only the touchpad, I have only PS/2 Compatible mouse showing under Mice and other pointing Devices. When I plug in a USB mouse I have also a HID-Compliant mouse showing. So Barbara using jayeff's suggestion connect a USB mouse and navigate to Device Manager and have a look if you have PS/2 Compatible mouse showing in Device Manger? If you don't I would suggest that the driver for the touchpad is not loading properly. Go to the Acer site and download the driver for the touchpad but do not use the auto install system. Manually install just the touchpad driver for your device and hopefully it should work. It is a fiddly job but I had to install most of the drivers manually after upgrading. Kaikho, Here is something you can try from forum below. Go to the Acer driver page for your computer. Download the Intel IO chip set drivers for Windows 8.1. Run the setup for the driver in 'compatibility mode' and install. You will need to restart the computer. The computer will then recognize the track pad as a valid device. Then download and install the Synaptics (or Elan) driver for Win 10 from the Acer support page and restart. If the track pad is not immediately active on the restart, hit Function F7.
